Seventh Congress at which he represented the Louisville societies. An excellent musical program was also rendered and holiday refreshments were served. Some money was raised for the movement by selling the privilege to read the Shir Hamaaloth. A mass meeting is being contemplated at which the detailed reports of the delegates to the Seventh Congress will be heard.

At a meeting of the B'nai Zion of Newark, Mme. Pevsnir debated on the question of Zionism versus Socialism with representatives of the local Socialist organization. Mme. Pevsnir's arguments in favor of Zionism were most favorably received by the audience, not a small part of which consisted of Socialists.

The Library Fund Committee of the Zionist Council of Greater New York requests all societies and individuals to remit money collected for raffle tickets to the Committee on Sundays at the Federation office, where new sets are to be obtained.
Dr. Harry Friedenwald, Mr. E. W. Lewin-Epstein, and Dr. J. L. Magnes rendered reports of the Seventh Zionist Congress at a mass meeting held under the auspices of the Zionist Council of Greater New York, on Wednesday, Oct. 18th. Mr. Cyrus L. Sulzberger presided. There was an exceptionally large and enthusiastic audience. Fuller accounts of the meeting are to be found in the several New York Jewish papers.
Through the generosity of Mr. S. H. Finklestein, a tea party and entertainment was given to the Literary Junior Branch of the B'nai and B'noth Zion Kadimah on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 15th. The children had a delightful time, and at the end of the meeting the sum of two dollars was collected for the Nationl Fund.
The Library Conference of the Zionist Council of Greater New York, at a meeting
held on Monday, Oct. 16th, decided that sets of tickets for the raffle will be entrusted only to those societies that are in good standing in the Council. A press committee was appointed, consisting of Messrs. J. H. Berkowitz, L. Frachtenberg and B. Prissman. Mr. H. Epstein of the Zion Circle of the Mefitsei Sfath Eber, and Mr. J. H. Berkowitz, of the students' Zionist League, were elected trustees. The conference will meet every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, at the B'nai and B'noth Zion Kadimah Clubrooms, 318 Broome St. Societies that have not yet elected delegates are asked to do so promptly.
The C. C. N. Y. Students' Zionist Society is about to complete the third year of its existence. It has done some good work for the cause in the past, and now is the recognized Jewish institutions in the City College. At the Seventh Conventioin of the Federation of American Zionists, the society participated in the formation of the Zionist Collegiate League of America, its representative being Mr. Joseph I. Davidman. At the meeting held on Friday afternoon, Oct. 6th, the following officers were elected: Pres. J. I. Davidman; Vice-Pres. S. Rakowitz; Rec. Sec. F. Rosengarten; Fin. Sec. C. Wexelman; Treas. S. Cohan; Editor, H. B. Garbarsky; Sgt-at-Arms, S. Blum.
The Students' Zionist League is arranging the second series of monthly open meetings, the first of which will take place on Sunday, Nov. 19th.
Instead of having, as heretofore, a Shekel Day, a whole week—Chanukah week—will be devoted to the sale of shekolim. The Zionist Council of Greater New York has appointed a committee which last Monday evening held a conference of the Greater New York societies. An elaborate program for the week has been prepared. The office of the Federation will next week issue a Shekel Proclamation, so that the work for the Chanukah week may be systematized throughout the whole country.
