Yom Tob Greetings
Place Your Holiday Greetings in THE MACCABAEAN,instead of sending cards
It is a custom among Jews in England and Holland to convey Holiday greetings to friends, not by means of cards, which is very expensive, and an unsatisfactory method, but by inserting a Notice in a Jewish newspaper or magazine. Among Zionists the custom of sending cards has grown immensely.
But if you want to reach your Zionist friends, the best method is that of the Notice. Use the columns of THE MACCABAEAN. You can have a five-line notice, nicely displayed, appear in our September issue, which will reach all your Zionist friends before Ros. Hashanah. THE MACCABAEAN is read by practically all Zionists, though not all of them are, personally, subscribers.
You will not deprive the National Fund of anything. THE MACCABAEAN will give one-third of all its receipts from this source to the National Fund.
Send us your name and address, legibly written, either in Yiddish or English or German, with seventy-five cents, and we shall insert your greetings in the September number of this magazine. Anything over five lines will be charged for at the rate of ten cents a line.
Notices will be received until September 5th. Not only will this method be more dignified and less costly, but our readers will find that it will do much to build up THE MACCABAEAN as a medium of communication, and benefit the movement itself directly, by increasing Zionist sentiment and Zionistic exchanges of Greetings.
