A REPLY TO MR. KATZOFF
I notice in THE MACCABAEAN of this month your editorial in which you charge the Knights of Zion with every crime on the Zionist calendar and also your footnote to a Chicago correspondence in which you corroborate the charges of your correspondent against the Knights of Zion. You say: "The facts are as stated by Mr. Katzoff. Instructions have been issued advising Zionists to alterations in the statutes of the Jewish Colonial Trust, and an editorial does appear in the Chicago Daily Courier in which an argument is presented to Zionists against altering the scope of the Trust."
I do not care what Mr. Katzoff says. I have not taken the pains to read his lucubrations. But you would not have written your footnote had you read the editorial referred to in the Courier. That editorial was a strong argument in favor of and not against limiting the scope of the Trust in accordance with the will of the majority of the congress. By a mere mental lapse the writer transposed the rôles of the respective parties to the litigation between the congress and the Ito. The error was corrected the next day. To say that the Knights of Zion had issued instructions advising opposition to the will of the congress is a deliberate falsehood on the part of your correspondent.
As to whether or not the Knights of Zion should, or could, or ought to be exterminated, wiped out, outlawed, etc., I do not care to discuss. I leave that to the editorial wisdom of THE MACCABAEAN.
