Wno Is GuILTY?
The wolf and the fox were once busily engaged in a quarrel concerning their methods of attacking various animals. While in the midst of their discussion they noticed a stray sheep coming in their direction.
"Come here, innocent one," the two exclaimed. "You sheep seem to think that you are the only ones in this world who act justly all the time. Come here and let us see whether you really are as just as you claim. Do you know what right is? If so, then listen to our arguments and decide who of us is the more correct."
The wolf then cleared his throat and made a long speech, in which he endeavored to prove that his way of attacking tame animals was the safest way, concluding with the remark, "Now, you just and righteous little sheep, are my arguments correct? But be very careful in your answer," and he gnashed his teeth maliciously as he finished.
"They are perfectly true," the sheep answered in a trembling tone.
"He may be right in his arguments," the fox began, "but wait till you hear what I have to say on the question."
He attacked the arguments set forth by the wolf, pointing out where his own method was more beneficial, that more animals could thus be caught in less time than by the method suggested by the wolf.
"Now," he added, "I ask of you, you innocent little sheep, tell me without any flattery, am I right or not?" He then opened wide his mouth to frighten the sheep with his teeth.
"You are perfectly right," the sheep answered, trembling with fear.
"If I am perfectly right, and he is perfectly right, then who of us is in the wrong?" the wolf stormed.
"I am" the wretched sheep replied.

JUNIOR ZION COUNCIL — CHANUCAH FESTIVAL AND BAZAAR.
A Chanucah Festival and Bazaar is now being prepared by the Junior Circles of
New York. The program will be composed of a series of Chanucah and Zionistic sketches, recitations, and songs, and the same custom that was followed at the Shebuoth Entertainment will be followed at this celebration. Every part of the program will be distinctly Jewish.
Following the entertainment there will be a Bazaar and Dance. A prize will be awarded for the best essay and poem written by any member of the New York Circles. The entertainment will be held at Clinton Hall, Sunday afternoon, December 20. Tickets may be obtained at the office of the Federation.
Among the new circles organized within the past month, the Grace Aguilar Zion Circle is making good progress.
The Alexander Cohen Circle is now under the leadership of Mr. Samuel Peiper.
The Aids of Zion was just organized, composed of boys ranging in ages from 10 to 14 years, and they meet every Sunday afternoon at 204 East Broadway.
A Zion Circle has been organized at the Kehileth Jeshurun Synagogue, which is composed of girls and boys, and is being led by Mr. A. Davidson.
The Buds of Zion has recently been organized by Jennie Steinberg, and is composed of girls ranging in ages from 10 to 14. They meet every Wednesday afternoon at 204 East Broadway.
A new circle of boys has been organized in the Bronx, and two other circles are in the process of formation, announcement of which will be made in the next issue.
A girls' Hebrew speaking club has been organized by the Dr. Herzl Zion Club.
The Dr. Herzl Club will celebrate Chanucah with a mass-meeting on Sunday evening, December 20, at 7 p. m., at the Educational Alliance, in Room 10, at 4. An invitation is extended to all young Juniors to attend this meeting.
The Junior Kadimah of Syracuse is making a study of Post-Biblical History under the leadership of Rabbi J. Kohn. Only those who have a fair knowledge of Hebrew and Biblical History are admitted into this club.
