Protest from Palestine Wine Growers
Rischon-le-Zion, December 28th, 1910.To THE MACCABAEAN:
We enclose herewith a public protest adopted at the general annual conference of all the members of our association and signed by the members of our Managing Board, consisting of representatives of each colony.
As there are persons in America, who, inisled or misleading, have been attacking our representatives, the Carmel Wine Co., thereby greatly harming our interests, we ask you to please publish this open protest at the earliest convenience and to ask all Zionist periodicals to copy same.

A PUBLIC PROTEST.
The general annual conference of the Co-operative Society of Wine Growers, held at Rischon-le-Zion on the 28th 1 Heshvan, 5671, and attended by all the members representing the wine growing colonies, Rischon-le-Zion, Rehoboth, Zichron Jacob, Gaderah, Petach Tikwah an‘ Wadi-Chanin, all of which colonics are organized by themselves and into one general syndicate,—after earnest consideration of all the attacks, conspiracies, hindrances and all kinds of falsifications, which are carried on against and placed in the way of the firm “Carmel Wine Co.” in America by various persons with the deliberate intention of injuring that firm and undermining its existence,—publicly announces herewith to all who have the interest of the colonization of Palestine close at heart:
(1) That the firm of "Carmel Wine Co." in America is the sole agent for the wines, cognacs, etc., of our syndicate, without exception.
(2) That the firm “Carmel Wine Co.” in America carries on its activities exclusively with the object of maintaining the existence of members of our syndicate in Palectine
(3) That all persons who are trying to injure our said representatives in America by spreading false rumors, are destroying Our means of livelihood and undermining our existence in the Holy Land, and against this we protest with all our might and enerevy.
Resolved—the conference unanimously agrees to and adopts this protest and announcement.
