414 4-2 2 4 Minneapolis—The newly organized Zionist Society of the University of Minnesota held its second reguiar meeting Wednesday evening, March 7th, at Folwell Hall, which was addressed by Mr. Chas. Cowen. The following officers were elected: President, Sol Fineman; Vice-President, Goldie London; Secretary, Sam Rosenblum; Treasurer, Morris Littman; Chairman Propaganda Committee, Harry Davis; Chairman Shekel Committee, William Shaw; Members-at-Large on the Executive Committee, Dr. Moses Barron and Harry Bickson. Mr. Harry Davis was chosen delegate to the State Zionist League, and Messrs. William Shaw and Leo Rigler will represent the society at the local congress orcanization.
NEBRASKA
Lincoln—At a recent meeting of the Bonei Zion Society of this city, Miss Rebecca Roska was elected secretary of the society. Miss Roska is a newcomer in the Zionist ranks, but has been very active as a communal worker. It is expected that the membership of the society will largely increase owing to the influence of Miss Roska in the community.

Brooklyn—On April 15th, a large mass meeting will be held at the Temple B'nai Sholom, South Brooklyn, under the auspices of the South Brooklyn Zion Club. The speakers will be Dr. Schmarya Levin, Bernard A. Rosenblatt, and Mr. J. H. Levinthal. Rabbi of the Temple.
Buffalo—A Zionist Council has recently been formed at Buffalo, N. Y., under the Charmanship of Rabbi Nachum N. Ebin, Louis H. Miller, Vice Chairman; B. Rosen- bleet, Treasurer; B. Jacobson, Financial Secretary, and William Munson, Recording Secretary.
New York—Representatives of all Zionist societies and camps of the Bronx met in joint session on Monday evening, March 26th, at the club rooms of the Zion Club, Hashachar, 1258 Boston Road, for the purpose of organizing the Bronx Zionist District Committee, under whose supervision all Zionist work in the Bronx will hereafter be conducted.
On Saturday evening, March 24th, a Literary and Musical Evening was given at the Young Men’s Hebrew Association, 92nd Street and Lexington Avenue, under the auspices of the Nordau Zionist Society and its affiliated organizations. In addition to the musical selections and recitations rendered by Miss Sarah Rothenberg, Mrs. Regina Hirschthal, Miss Beth Tischler, Miss Sadie Davidson, Miss J. Pomarlen and Mr. Henry Rosenberg, addresses were delivered by Mr. Morris Margulies, chairman of the evening, and Mr. A. H. Fromenson. Mr. Fromenson spoke on the Russian Revolution and its effect on Zionism. He said that now that the overthrow of the old Russian regime has removed Jewish disabilities and Jewish sufferings in Russia the aims of Zionism will again stand out clearly as being the striving to obtain for the Jewish people, as such, a publicly recognized, legally secured home in Palestine. The Zionist movement, he said, was threatened with an overflow of philanthropists who were seeking in Zionism an outlet for their benevolent regard for Palestine as a “haven and a refuge for the persecuted and oppressed.” This danger was now averted, and only those who wanted a
